Care for the Whole Body, Under One Roof

Physiotherapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic care in Toronto, working together on one plan.

Three Disciplines, One Plan

Riverstone runs physiotherapy, registered massage therapy and chiropractic care out of the same clinic, and the practitioners talk to each other. If you are seeing two of them, they are working from the same assessment rather than two separate opinions you have to reconcile yourself.

That matters most for the problems that do not sit neatly in one discipline. A shoulder that hurts at work and again at the gym might need hands-on treatment to settle it, a loading plan to rebuild it, and a look at what your day is asking of it. Sending you to three clinics for that is how the thread gets lost.

Which One Should You Book?

There is real overlap between the three, so the more useful question is what you want to change.

Physiotherapy suits a specific problem with a specific goal: an injury, a surgery you are recovering from, a movement that hurts. Much of the work happens between appointments through exercise.

Massage therapy suits tissue responding to load: the shoulders after a heavy work week, the calves mid training block, the tension that comes back every time a deadline does.

Chiropractic suits joint and spinal mechanics, particularly where daily habits keep bringing a problem back.

If that does not settle it, book an assessment with any of the three. A practitioner who thinks a colleague is a better fit will say so.

Common Questions About Booking

Do I need a referral to book?

Not to be seen. In Ontario you can book physiotherapy, massage therapy and chiropractic care directly. Some extended health plans do ask for a doctor's referral before they will reimburse you, which catches people out because the appointment goes ahead fine and the claim is what gets declined. Worth checking your policy before your first visit.

Can I see more than one practitioner?

Yes, and it is common. Where two disciplines are involved they coordinate rather than running separate plans. Your coverage is usually capped per service rather than shared across them, so seeing two practitioners does not always mean using up one budget twice.

Do you direct bill?

We direct bill most major insurers where your plan allows it, so you pay the remaining portion rather than the full amount up front. Not every plan supports it, and some support it for one service but not another. Bring your policy and member numbers to your first visit and the front desk will check what applies.

What if you cannot help with my problem?

We will tell you, and where we can we will point you toward who can. Some things need a physician, imaging or a specialist rather than any of the three services here, and the assessment is partly there to identify that.

Not Sure Where to Start? Book an Assessment

If you are not sure which of the three fits, book an assessment and say so when you call. A practitioner who thinks a colleague is the better fit will tell you, and that costs you one appointment rather than a course of the wrong care.
