Not everything needs treatment. Plenty of aches settle on their own within a week or two, and booking for all of them would be a waste of your time and money.

When Waiting Is Reasonable

Waiting is reasonable when something came on after an obvious cause, is steadily improving, and does not stop you doing what you need to do. A stiff back after a weekend of moving boxes that is better each day is usually just that.

When to Book an Assessment

Booking makes more sense when a problem is not improving after a couple of weeks, when it keeps returning, when it is changing what you avoid, or when you are not confident about what it is. Recurring problems in particular tend to be worth an assessment, because something is bringing them back and that something rarely resolves itself.

When to Seek Medical Care

Some things should not wait for a physiotherapist, a massage therapist or a chiropractor at all. Numbness or weakness that is spreading, loss of bladder or bowel control, significant pain after a fall or collision, or pain with fever are reasons to contact a doctor or emergency services rather than book here.

Ask If You Are Unsure

If you are unsure which category you are in, call and ask. Describing it over the phone takes two minutes, and the front desk can tell you whether an appointment is the right next step.
